The international women’s 3×3 ice hockey club tournament under the auspices of the IIHF will be held in Sao Paulo next week.

The competition will be held from November 7 to 13 on non-standard ice. Unlike previous 3×3 tournaments, this championship will not be held on a traditional 60x30m ice rink, but will use a single, 26x18m ice pad specifically designed for 3×3 games.

The tournament will feature two home teams from Brazil, as well as one each from Argentina, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Iran. Six teams will play the group stage in a round-robin system, and then compete for prizes in the playoffs.

The tournament in Brazil will be the first 3×3 ice hockey championship in South America and the first women’s competition in this format.

In addition to the women’s 3×3 hockey tournament, Sao Paulo will also host the IIHF’s Learn to Play educational program.
