The youth national team of Uzbekistan (U18) will participate at the IIHF Junior World Championship in Bangkok for the first time in its history.

The Uzbekistan national ice hockey team will play in Division IIIB. The tournament will be held from February 28 to March 6 in Thailand. 

In their debut World Championship, ice hockey players from Uzbekistan will face against the national teams of South Africa, Luxembourg, Turkmenistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Thailand. 

Last year, the junior national team of Uzbekistan became the champion of Asia and Oceania at the IIHF home tournament in Tashkent. In the final, the hosts beat the Thailand national team (2:1). And a month before the Asia and Oceania Championship, the Uzbekistan national team held the ADIHIC training camp at the Neftyanik Ice Hockey Development Center in Almetyevsk.
