III Tatneft ADIHIC Cup reached the equator

The second competitive day of the III Tatneft ADIHIC Cup has ended on the ice of the Tatneft Arena in Kazan. In two days, eight teams, divided into two groups, played 16 matches.

On June 8, a colorful opening ceremony took place. It was attended by Vladislav Tretyak, President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, Anvar Omorkanov, Vice President of ADIHIC for the Asian region, Damir Mukhametshin, ADIHIC Executive Director, and Albert Yarullin, defender of Ak Bars. In his welcoming speech, Vladislav Tretyak emphasized: “Russia is one of the leading ice hockey powers, and our task is to share our experience with friends.”

For the first time, the Tatneft ADIHIC Cup is held in the 3×3 hockey format, which significantly affected the entertainment of the matches. In two days of play, not a single meeting ended with a clear victory for one of the teams, and the average performance in the tournament was 12.1 goals per match.

In Group A, the leadership was taken by the team of Kazakhstan, which won three games with one defeat from Lebanon (6-7). According to the total of two days, Kazakhstan is the most productive team with 34 goals scored. The second place in the group is shared by Kyrgyzstan and Lebanon, who scored four points each.

The team of the Republic of Tatarstan, representing Russia, is in the lead in Group B. Tatarstan gained four wins in four matches with a total +- of 29:19. Only two teams, Iran (17) and Kazakhstan (18), have more reliable defenses in the tournament. On the final day of the game in Group B, a battle for the second place will unfold between Iran (4 points), Bahrain and Oman (2 points each).

For the first time in the history of Tatneft’s ADIHIC Cup, an analytical studio has been organized, which is broadcast following the results of each match. Team players, coaches, famous hockey players and bloggers become studio guests.
