On October 18, Ak Bars defeated Barys in a shootout in KHL regular championship game. The game in Astana ended with a score 3:2. It was the seventh straight win for the “snow leopards”.

After a less-than-stellar series, the team from Kazan has regained momentum. In its last seven games, Ak Bars has defeated Barys twice (3:2 SO and 4:3), Sibir (4:1), Salavat Yulaev (4:1), CSKA (3:2), and Amur twice (3:1 and 5:1).

Ak Bars has earned 23 points in 17 games and moved up to second place in the Eastern standings. The team returns to Kazan, where it will begin its home series against Lokomotiv on October 22.
