The United Arab Emirates has won the right to host the IIHF World Championship Division IIA tournament in 2027. At the IIHF Congress in Zurich, the UAE’s bid beat Croatia.

The championship will be held in Al Ain in April 2027. Six national teams will compete for promotion to the first division: Croatia, Serbia, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Australia, and Georgia. 

Recall that in 2026, the second division of the IIHF World Championship was not held.
