Players of national hockey teams of Bahrain and Oman will attend the ADIHIC training camps at the Neftyanik Ice Hockey Training Center in Almetyevsk.

From June 1-6, ten ice hockey players from Bahrain and two from Oman will take part in training camps at the main infrastructure base of the Tatneft Company ice hockey vertical, the Neftyanik Ice Hockey Training Center in Almetyevsk. English-speaking coaches of the Ak Bars Hockey Academy will work with foreign players. Every day, hockey players will conduct practices on and off the ice twice, as well as test their individual playing abilities on the center’s modern simulators.

The main purpose of the training camps for teams from Bahrain and Oman is to prepare for the third international ice hockey tournament among Islamic countries, the Tatneft ADIHIC 3×3 Cup. This year’s competition will be held from June 8 to 11 in Kazan on the ice of Tatneft Arena, and for the first time hockey players will play in the progressive and rapidly developing 3×3 format.

3×3 hockey is an actively developing format of the game on a smaller rink (34×18 m), with fewer players in the teams and increased intensity. The game consists of three periods lasting seven minutes of net time. In the current season of the KHL 3×3 championship, the Ak Bars team is one of the strongest in the league.

It is not the first time that the Bahrain national ice hockey team has been improving its training with specialists from Ak Bars, ADIHIC and the Tatneft Company. In 2023, Bahrain’s captain Sameh Hegazi came to Kazan for individual training camps, and in the summer of 2024, the full roster of Bahrain national team held training camps at the Ak Bars facility in Kazan.
