Uzbekistan national ice hockey team played their first match on the IIIB division IIHF World Championship tournament in Hong Kong. In the opening game, Uzbekistan defeated Mongolia with a score of 26:1, and 14 players scored points at once. 

Last year, Uzbekistan beat Indonesia with the same score at the IV division IIHF World Championship tournament in Yerevan.
