Uzbekistan won the IIHF World Championship

The Uzbekistan national ice hockey team has triumphantly completed its debut season in the IIHF Division IV World Championship and gained the gold medals. In the final match of the tournament, Uzbek players defeated the Malaysian national team with a score of 18:3. 

The national team of Uzbekistan has also become the most productive team in the history of the IV divisions of the IIHF World Championship. The team scored 79 goals in five games. The previous record was set in 2022 by the Kyrgyzstan national team – 64 goals. 

Thus, the national team repeated the success of the U-18 junior team, which had previously won the gold medals of its division at the IIHF World Junior Championship in Thailand.

Vadim Kravchenko topped the list of the team’s top scorers and snipers at the tournament with 25 (13+12) points in 5 games. Vasily Zhilov scored the same number of points – 25 (6+19). In addition, Pavel Sinyavsky scored 23 (10+13) points, and Egor Dorofeev scored 19 (6+13) points.

Among the natives of Uzbekistan, 15-year-old Salokhiddin Azimov scored the most points – 13 (7+6).

It should be noted that the young players from this national team of Uzbekistan twice passed the ADIHIC training camps in Kazan and Almetyevsk in March and September 2024.
